Pre-Owned Marketplace Guide & Fees
What is the difference between Pre-Owned and Marketplace?
Pre-Owned items mean they are sold as used and pre-loved by Op tech. A limited warranty for these items is available (see our policy here).
Marketplace items are items sold by another colleague (third party). The Op tech website is only used for listing the item only. No warranty from Op tech applies. However, a return guarantee is available for Marketplace items so you have that piece of mind reassurance (see below). These terms have been agreed to by the seller prior to listing on the Marketplace website.
If you have equipment you wish to list on our Pre-Owned Marketplace,
Contact us with a description of the item including colour (if applicable) and condition of the item. You can also let us know your asking price. We will get back to you and you can send us a photo/s.
It will be your (seller’s) decision when setting the asking price. When considering your asking price, consider our fees involved (see below).
You can withdraw the listing at anytime (if the item has not been sold) by contacting us.
If you want to sell your item but don’t want to list it as a Marketplace item, still contact us and see what we can offer.
Fees Guide:
Our commission to sell on the Pre-Owned Marketplace are below:
- Asking price $999.99 and below: $50 +GST or 10% of asking price + GST (the higher of the two options apply)
- Asking price $1000 to $1999.99: 7.5% of asking price + GST
- Asking price $2000 and above: 5% of asking price + GST
- A discount off the fees may be available for listing multiple items
Sellers must inform Op tech immediately if their item/s is no longer available for sale. The seller is liable for the sales commission if the item is sold on the Op tech website but is no longer available.
Return Guarantee
If the equipment is not of satisfactory quality, or as described, the buyer may reject the item and return it to the seller. The seller is responsible for the cost of returning the item.
The buyer must inform us that they wish to reject the item within 3 working days of delivery.
If the item is returned, the sales commission is forfeited by the seller and is not refundable.
Any disputes between the seller and buyer for Marketplace items may be resolved via the Disputes Tribunal if both parties are New Zealand based.
